Dear Friends of Wild Rivers,

As you are aware, Wild Rivers has been working to keep the park open for the 2012 season. In connection with our efforts, we received overwhelming support and letters from of over one thousand supporters, and some Council Members and Supervisors. Despite all of our collective efforts, the Irvine Company has elected to proceed with their project. That means that Wild Rivers will not open and operate at our current site in 2012.

While I am sad that there will be no park in 2012, it will provide us an opportunity to evaluate opportunities to build a brand new waterpark with great new attractions. While it is unclear, the intended opening would be around the summer of 2013.

More importantly, we were humbled by not only the recent community support and letters, but for the continued patronage over the last 26 years. We would like to thank all of the people who visited Wild Rivers, as well as the staff that worked deligently to make each guest have a positive experience. We leave here knowing we had a positive impact in lives of our guests and staff. We would also like to thank the Irvine City Council Members and Orange County Board of Supervisors who supported us for 26 years.
